Financial Reality Fair
LAFCU, in partnership with the Michigan Credit Union Foundation, is proud to present Financial Reality Fair for local High School students. A financial reality fair is a two-hour simulation of one month of adult living. Students select a future career choice and identify purchases of goods and services such as housing, transportation, food, and much more. Students create a budget and work with a credit union counselor to determine their monthly income and expenses. The goal of Financial Reality Fairs is to allow students to experience the financial decisions they will face in the near future and teach students the practices of building and using credit, loans, borrowing, and saving.
